PRISA Group (PRISA) is a family-owned, Puerto Rico-based developer and builder of green residential communities and luxury hospitality projects with over 500 employees and 6,000 units in various stages of planning and construction, representing a value of over $3 billion. Caribbean Business named PRISA Group Puerto Rico’s Largest Homebuilder in 2008.
With over 35 years of experience, under the leadership of its founder and Chairman, Federico “Friedel” Stubbe, PRISA Group has delivered over 2,500 units in the last 15 years and currently develops projects in Dorado, Vega Alta, Gurabo, San Lorenzo, and To a Alta, Puerto Rico, as well as in Tampa, Florida. PRISA Group has received numerous awards, including Builder Member of the Decade and three Master Planned Community of the Year Awards by the National Association of Home Builders Puerto Rico Chapter, as well as the highest honor bestowed upon Puerto Rico developer, the Frank Ramirez de Arellano Award.
In 2002, Mr. Stubbe founded one of the most esteemed private schools on the Island, TASIS (The American School in Switzerland) Dorado, within its Sabanera Dorado community. With over 700 students in grades PPK-12, students and residents share some of the best amenities of any school or community in Puerto Rico, flanked by Sabanera’s natural lakes and farmland. As the TASIS Foundation’s first venture in the U.S., TASIS Dorado has already been ranked by the Middles States Association within the top 10% of schools in their U.S. region.
PRISA Group is also a partner and developer/builder of the $1.5 billion, 1,400-acre Dorado Beach Resort, which includes a six-star, 115-key Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in construction and opening December 2012, and a five-star, 400-key Fairmont Dorado Beach. The company has been involved with Dorado Beach for over 20 years, originally as partners of the Chicago-based Pritzker family, with two projects: Dorado Beach East and Plantation Resort Residences at Dorado Beach.
The company’s next projects include two Hyatt Place Hotel & Casino projects on the Island, scheduled to start construction in Fall 2011, a health clinic in Dorado, Puerto Rico, and the fourth iteration of its successful, green master-planned community concept named Sabanera in the metropolitan region of Caguas.
An underlying tenet of PRISA’s business operation is to add value through a vertically integrated approach to the construction process to ensure the quality and consistency of product, timeliness of construction and cost control. Thus, cost savings are passed on to the project and to the consumer. PRISA has been a pioneer in developing green communities and resorts in Puerto Rico. PRISA’s strong belief in environmentally responsible development is the firm’s core value that has shaped the planning, design and construction of all of its developments. To date, all of PRISA’s developments have maintained a 50% green area footprint. PRISA is an innovator in green land development practices, its designs focus on functional, sustainable landscaping, storm water retention and aquifer recharge, and creating habitats were people can enjoy and be a part of nature.
